The Center for Animal Resources and Education (CARE) ensures humane care by providing for the animals' daily care and housing and veterinary care when necessary. The CARE team is dedicated to supporting the education and research mission of Brown University, while maintaining compliance with federal, state and institutional regulations, guidelines and policies.

Veterinary Responsibilities
The veterinarians are directly responsible for the care and use of animals at all Brown University facilities and provide veterinary services to the area hospitals affiliated with The Warren Alpert Medical School. They directly support researchers and students, and as veterinary members of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), they review all animal care and use protocols.
